The Command Position: Beds

"In this position, you face the door from the far side of the room but are not directly in front of the door; usually the part of the room diagonally farthest from the entry offers the best Command Position." .fastfengshui.com/articles_commandposition

In Fengshui, the bed is often recommended to be in a "Command Position". That is the bed should ideally be placed so that the occupant has a good view of the room with their head away from the door. Ideally the Command Position also provides a solid wall behind you for support. This calms the instinctive part of the occupant as it is the safest and most pleasing position from a tactical/instinctive viewpoint. In other words if an attacker/intruder comes into your space the command position gives you the best chance of spotting them as early as possible and the greatest distance and time to prepare an appropriate response.

At a deeper level the command position for beds symbolizes personal power and security. Sleeping in the command position puts you in harmony with nature.
