Variscite

Description
A hydrated aluminium phosphate, it is a relatively rare phosphate mineral. It is sometimes confused with Turquoise, however, Variscite is usually greener in color.

Properties

German Variscit, from Medieval Latin Variscia, ancient name for Vogtland, region of Germany where the mineral was discovered.
