*Dreaming of Enlightenment*
Man is asleep, perpetually dreaming.
He dreams during waking and sleeping hours.
Man dreams of gods.
He has nightmares and dreams of ecstasy.
Man dreams of heaven and hell.
He dreams of birth and death.
Man tastes, touches, sees, smells and hears the dream.
Dreaming forms the life of man.
From the dream: reality.
The dream becomes “me”.
Preservation of this dream “me” is all pervading.
From the dream then: fear.
Man suffers because he fears.
Man suffers because he dreams.
That which is not a dream is not of cause and effect;
is not born, does not die.
There is no dream without a dreamer;
no fear, no suffering
and the dreamer is but a dream.
